When Alejandro and Rosa Macias first immigrated to the United States, their dream of opening a furniture store was only an idea. They worked to turn their dreams to reality, but like all entrepreneurs, they faced challenges along the way. That’s when they came to Prestamos CDFI for support.
With the help of Teresa Miranda, the Macias family was able to take out their first loan in 2009 to help them survive the economic downturn. They later came back to Prestamos in 2020 to support them again in the face of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Now, more than 25 years later, Del Sol Furniture and Mattress operates 3 retail locations throughout the Valley of the Sun, and employs over 53 staff members across departments. Today, the business continues to grow and thrive as a pillar of economic development and jobs in our community, and a source of generational pride and sustainability for the Macias family.
